Data Cubes
Data cubes are a user-friendly alternative to open-ended, ad-hoc query tools. Cubes are multidimensional tables that focus on a specific theme. Users can manipulate these cubes to aggregate or disaggregate data and focus on particular areas of interest by changing the dimensions displayed in rows and columns and filtering the contributing data through a graphical "drag-and-drop" user interface.
Users can:
- Easily navigate to change the rows and columns of displayed data by dragging and dropping variables in the cube table.
- Select the level of aggregation of results within available variable hierarchies.
- Add your own calculations to the results.
- Show information as actual values, as percentages, or as different currencies.
- Filter to exclude some data values.
- Suppress, highlight, and sort values.
- Choose the type of display , such as crosstab, pie chart, or bar chart, and the amount of data shown.
- Swap rows and columns , limit the number of rows and columns in the display, reorder the measures for your data.
- Send a notification of a defined event occurring in your data.
- Publish, export, print, or bookmark reports.
- Save the user-defined data structure for future use.
Directions for access:
- No special software is required on the user's computer.
- Menu Driven Query Tool.
- Firefox Mozilla browser is not supported.
- Netscape Navigator users must have Netscape 3.0 or later.
- Microsoft Internet Explorer users must have Internet Explorer version 4.72.31 10.8 or later.
